ನವದೆಹಲಿ: ಖ್ಯಾತ, ಹಿರಿಯ ಪತ್ರಕರ್ತ ಹಾಗೂ ಅಂಕಣಕಾರ ಕುಲದೀಪ್ ನಾಯರ್ (95) ಅವರು ಬುಧವಾರ ದೆಹಲಿ ನಿವಾಸದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಧನರಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
1923 ಆಗಸ್ಟ್ 14 ರಂದು ಇಂದಿನ ಪಾಕಿಸ್ತಾನದ ಸಿಯಾಲ್ಕೋಟ್ ಎಂಬಲ್ಲಿ ಜನಿಸಿದ ನಾಯರ್ ಅವರು ಭಾರತೀಯ ಪತ್ರಿಕೋದ್ಯಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಲವು ದಶಗಳ ಕಾಲ ಅಪಾರ ಸೇವೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಸ್ಟೇಟ್ಸ್ ಮನ್ ಪತ್ರಿಕೆಯ ಸಂಪಾದಕರಾಗಿ ಸೇವೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದ್ದ ನಾಯರ್ ಅವರ Between the lines ಅಂಕಣ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಜನಪ್ರಿಯಾವಾಗಿತ್ತು.

ಉರ್ದು ಪತ್ರಿಕೆ ಮೂಲಕ ವೃತ್ತಿ ಜೀವನ ಆರಂಭಿಸಿದ ನಾಯರ್ ಅವರ ಬರಹಗಳು 14 ಭಾಷೆಗಳ 80 ಪತ್ರಿಕೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಕಟವಾಗುತ್ತಿತ್ತು. 1990 ರಲ್ಲಿ ಇಂಗ್ಲೆಂಡ್ ಹೈ ಕಮಿಶನರ್ ಆಗಿ ನೇಮಕವಾಗಿ ಸೇವೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದ್ದ ನಾಯರ್ 1997 ರಲ್ಲಿ ರಾಜ್ಯಸಭೆಗೆ ಆಯ್ಕೆ ಆಗಿದ್ದರು. ಲಾಹೋರ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾನೂನು ಪದವಿ ಪಡೆದಿದ್ದ ಅವರು ಅಮೆರಿಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಪತ್ರಿಕೋದ್ಯಮ ಪದವಿಯನ್ನು ಪಡೆದಿದ್ದರು. ಅಲ್ಲದೇ ತತ್ವಶಾಸ್ತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಪಿಎಚ್ಡಿ ಪದವಿ ಪೂರ್ಣಗೊಳಿಸಿದ್ದರು.
ದೆಹಲಿಯ ಲೋಧಿ ಬಳಿ ಇಂದು ಮಧ್ಯಾಹ್ನದ ನಂತರ ಅಂತ್ಯಕ್ರಿಯೆ ನಡೆಯಲಿದೆ ಎಂಬ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ಲಭಿಸಿದ್ದು, ಇದಕ್ಕೂ ಮುನ್ನ ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕ ದರ್ಶನ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆ ಮಾಡಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.
