ಸಿಯೋಲ್: ಗ್ಲಾಸ್ಗೋ ಓಪನ್ ಟೂರ್ನಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಜಪಾನ್ ನೋಜೊಮಿ ಒಕುಹರಾ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಸೋತಿದ್ದ ಪಿವಿ ಸಿಂಧು ಕೊರಿಯಾ ಓಪನ್ ಸೂಪರ್ ಸರಣಿ ಬ್ಯಾಡ್ಮಿಂಟನ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರನ್ನು ಸೋಲಿಸುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಚಾಂಪಿಯನ್ ಆಗಿ ಹೊರ ಹೊಮ್ಮಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
22-20, 11-21, 21-18 ಅಂತರದಿಂದ ಫೈನಲ್ ಗೆಲ್ಲುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಸಿಂಧು ತಮ್ಮದಾಗಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಶನಿವಾರ ನಡೆದ ಮಹಿಳೆಯರ ಸಿಂಗಲ್ಸ್ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಸೆಮಿಫೈನಲ್ನಲ್ಲಿ, ವಿಶ್ವ ಕ್ರಮಾಂಕ ಪಟ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಾಲ್ಕನೇ ಸ್ಥಾನದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಸಿಂಧು 21- 10, 17-21, 21-16 ರಲ್ಲಿ ಚೀನಾದ ಆರನೇ ಶ್ರೇಯಾಂಕಿತ ಆಟಗಾರ್ತಿ ಹಿ ಬಿಂಗ್ಜಿಯಾವೊ ಅವರನ್ನು ಸೋಲಿಸಿದ್ದರು.
ಆಗಸ್ಟ್ 27 ರಂದು ಸ್ಲಾಟ್ಲೆಂಡಿನ ಗ್ಲಾಸ್ಗೋ ಓಪನ್ ಫೈನಲ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ 21- 19, 22-20 ಅಂತರದಿಂದ ಒಕುಹರಾ ಸಿಂಧು ಅವರನ್ನು ಸೋಲಿಸಿ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ ಗೆದ್ದಿದ್ದರು.
