ನವದೆಹಲಿ: ದೇಶದ 13ನೇ ಉಪರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಪತಿಯಾಗಿ ವೆಂಕಯ್ಯ ನಾಯ್ಡು ಆಯ್ಕೆ ಆಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಶನಿವಾರ ನಡೆದ ಚುನಾವಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಯುಪಿಎ ಅಭ್ಯರ್ಥಿ ಗೋಪಾಲಕೃಷ್ಣ ಗಾಂಧಿ ಅವರನ್ನು 272 ಮತಗಳ ಅಂತರದಿಂದ ಸೋಲಿಸುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಈ ಉಪರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಪತಿಯಾಗಿ ಆಯ್ಕೆ ಆಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಒಟ್ಟು 785 ಮತದಾರರ ಪೈಕಿ ಬಿಜೆಪಿ ಇಬ್ಬರು ಸೇರಿ 14 ಮಂದಿ ಮತ ಹಾಕಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಶೇಕಡವಾರು ಲೆಕ್ಕದಲ್ಲಿ ನೋಡೋದಾದ್ರೆ 98.21ರಷ್ಟು ಮತದಾನ ಆಗಿತ್ತು. ಒಟ್ಟು ಮತಗಳ ಶೇ. 68 ರಷ್ಟು ಅಂದರೆ 516 ಸಂಸದರು ಎನ್ಡಿಎ ಅಭ್ಯರ್ಥಿ ವೆಂಕಯ್ಯ ನಾಯ್ಡು ಪರ ಮತ ಚಲಾಯಿಸಿದರೆ, ಶೇ. 32ರಷ್ಟು ಅಂದರೆ 244 ಮಂದಿ ಸಂಸದರು ಯುಪಿಎ ಅಭ್ಯರ್ಥಿ ಗೋಪಾಲಕೃಷ್ಣ ಗಾಂಧಿ ಪರ ಮತ ಚಲಾಯಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಉಪರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಪತಿ ಚುನಾವಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಜಯಗಳಿಸಿದ್ದಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರಧಾನಿ ನರೇಂದ್ರ ಮೋದಿ ಅವರು ವೆಂಕಯ್ಯ ನಾಯ್ಡು ಅವರನ್ನು ಅಭಿನಂದಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಈ ಚುನಾವಣೆಯಲ್ಲೂ ಅಡ್ಡಮತದಾನ ನಡೆದಿದ್ದು, ವೆಂಕಯ್ಯ ನಾಯ್ಡು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚುವರಿಯಾಗಿ 17 ಮತಗಳು ಬಿದ್ದಿದ್ದು, ಗೋಪಾಲಕೃಷ್ಣ ಗಾಂಧಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ 33 ಮತಗಳು ಕಡಿಮೆ ಬಿದ್ದಿದೆ.
