ಇಂಡೋನೇಷ್ಯಾದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದ ಈ ಹಿಂದಿನ ಏಷ್ಯನ್ ಗೇಮ್ಸ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾರತ 16 ಚಿನ್ನ, 23 ಬೆಳ್ಳಿ, 31 ಕಂಚಿನ ಪದಕ ಸೇರಿ ಒಟ್ಟು 70 ಪದಕಗಳನ್ನು ಗೆದ್ದುಕೊಂಡಿತ್ತು. ಇದು ಇಲ್ಲಿಯವರೆಗೆ ನಡೆದಿದ್ದ ಏಷ್ಯನ್ ಕ್ರೀಡಾಕೂಟದಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾರತದ ಅತ್ಯುತ್ತಮ ಸಾಧನೆಯಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಆದರೆ ಭಾರತ ಇಂದು ಈ ಗಡಿಯನ್ನು ದಾಟಿದ್ದು ಇನ್ನೂ 4 ದಿನ ಕ್ರೀಡಾಕೂಟ ನಡೆಯಲಿರುವ ಕಾರಣ ಹಲವು ಪದಕಗಳು ಬರುವ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆಯಿದೆ.

ಇಂದು ನಡೆದ ಮಿಶ್ರ ಅರ್ಚರಿ ಸ್ಪರ್ಧೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಜ್ಯೋತಿ ವೆನ್ನಮ್ ಮತ್ತು ಓಜಸ್ ಡಿಯೋಟಾಲೆ ಚಿನ್ನ ಗೆದ್ದಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಮಂಜು ರಾಣಿ ಮತ್ತು ರಾಮ್ ಬಾಬೂ ಅವರಿದ್ದ ಮಿಶ್ರ ತಂಡ 35 ಕಿಮೀ ನಡಿಗೆ ಸ್ಪರ್ಧೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಂಚಿನ ಪದಕ ಪಡೆದರು.
