ವಾಷಿಂಗ್ಟನ್: ಭಾರತ ಪ್ರಧಾನಿ ನರೇಂದ್ರ ಮೋದಿ ಅವರು ಶ್ವೇತಭವನಕ್ಕೆ ಭೇಟಿ ನೀಡಿದ್ದ ವೇಳೆ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಡೊನಾಲ್ಡ್ ಟ್ರಂಪ್ ಪತ್ನಿ ಮೆಲಾನಿಯಾ ಟ್ರಂಪ್ ಭಾರೀ ಮೊತ್ತದ ಡ್ರೆಸ್ ಧರಿಸಿದ್ದರು ಎಂಬುದಾಗಿ ವರದಿಯಾಗಿದೆ.
ಮೆಲಾನಿಯಾ ಟ್ರಂಪ್ ಹಳದಿ ಬಣ್ಣದ ಗೌನ್ ಧರಿಸಿ ಮೋದಿ ಅವರನ್ನು ಸ್ವಾಗತಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಈ ಗೌನ್ಗೆ 2,160 ಡಾಲರ್(ಅಂದಾಜು 1.39 ಲಕ್ಷ ರೂ.) ಇದೆ ಎಂದು ಮಾಧ್ಯಮಗಳು ವರದಿ ಮಾಡಿದೆ.
ಮೋದಿ ಮೆಲಾನಿಯಾ ಟ್ರಂಪ್ಗೆ ಕಾಶ್ಮೀರಿ ಶಾಲ್, ಕಾಂಗ್ರಾ ಕಣಿವೆಯ ಟೀ, ಜೇನುತುಪ್ಪ, ಹಾಗೂ ಬೆಳ್ಳಿಯ ಬ್ರೇಸ್ಲೆಟ್ ಉಡುಗೊರೆಯಾಗಿ ನೀಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಇನ್ನು ಟ್ರಂಪ್ ಅವರಿಗಾಗಿ ಪಂಜಾಬ್ನ ಹೊಶಿಯಾರ್ಪುರ್ನ ವಿಶೇಷತೆಯಾದ ಸುಂದರವಾದ ಕೆತ್ತನೆಯುಳ್ಳ ಮರದ ಪೆಟ್ಟಿಗೆಯನ್ನ ಉಡುಗೊರೆಯಾಗಿ ನೀಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಇದರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಅಬ್ರಹಂ ಲಿಂಕನ್ ಅವರ ಸ್ಮರಣೆಗಾಗಿ 1965ರಲ್ಲಿ ವಿತರಿಸಲಾಗಿದ್ದ ಪೋಸ್ಟಲ್ ಸ್ಟ್ಯಾಂಪ್ ಕೂಡ ಉಡುಗೊರೆಯಾಗಿ ನೀಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಸ್ಲೋವೇನಿಯಾ ಮೂಲದ ಮೆಲಾನಿಯ ಡೊನಾಲ್ಡ್ ಟ್ರಂಪ್ ಅವರನ್ನು ವಿವಾಹವಾಗುವುದಕ್ಕೂ ಮೊದಲು ಫ್ಯಾಶನ್ ರೂಪದರ್ಶಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದರು.
